Iran Maintains Stance on Israel Despite Election Results Amid Ongoing Tensions

by admin477351

Iran has declared that the results of Israel’s parliamentary election will not influence its policies towards the country, emphasizing the persistent high tensions between the two regional adversaries. Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated that Tehran is closely observing developments related to the election and criticized Israel’s actions in West Asia, accusing it of escalating violence and continuing attacks against Palestinians.

Baghaei dismissed Israeli claims that Iran might attempt pre-emptive strikes to interfere with the election, accusing Israel of a history of false-flag operations. He cautioned against any efforts to attribute actions to Iran without evidence and reiterated Iran’s preparedness to defend its territory, asserting the country’s right to self-defense amid ongoing conflicts.

The backdrop of these statements is a period of increased hostility following joint US-Israeli attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities on February 28. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US military bases in the region. This exchange has further heightened security measures on both sides, with concerns about potential military escalation continuing to loom large.

The Iranian spokesperson’s remarks underline the entrenched enmity between Tehran and Tel Aviv. Despite the Israeli election, Iran remains steadfast in its position, signaling that electoral outcomes in Israel will not sway its approach or alter its defensive posture in the face of perceived threats.
