Iran has affirmed that the results of Israel’s parliamentary election will not influence its stance towards the country, maintaining its current policy amid ongoing regional tensions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized that Tehran is vigilant about the electoral developments but remains steadfast in its position regarding Israel.
Baghaei criticized Israel for its actions in West Asia, accusing it of escalating violence and continuing assaults against Palestinians. He dismissed accusations from Israel suggesting that Iran might consider pre-emptive strikes to disrupt the election process. Baghaei further accused Israel of engaging in false-flag operations and cautioned against attributing actions to Iran without evidence.
The Iranian spokesperson reiterated that Iran’s armed forces are ready to defend the nation’s territory, asserting their right to self-defense amid the ongoing conflict. This stance comes in the wake of intensified tensions following joint US-Israeli attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities on February 28. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and US military installations and assets in the region.
The situation underscores the persistent hostility between Tehran and Tel Aviv, as both sides continue to enforce heightened security measures. There is growing concern about the potential for further military escalation, with each side poised to respond to perceived threats.
